Join our team to help develop innovative telephonic and remote support services for primary care providers in the Columbia, Maryland area. This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical skills and creativity to help shape a new kind of healthcare service.

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time CMA to work directly with a primary care provider, initially on-site, to gain a deep understanding of current workflows and identify opportunities to transition these processes to a telephonic and remote framework. Upon a successful learning period of 1-3 months, the role will shift primarily to remote work, supporting the provider’s daily office functions from a distance. Occasional on-site work may be required as we expand similar programs to other local providers.

Responsibilities

    Work directly with primary care providers and office staff to understand daily workflows and processes.

    Provide insights and recommendations for transitioning primary care in-office tasks to telephonic, remote, or electronic formats.

Specific daily task include:

    Work with physician and staff to manage pre-and post-visit tasks such as: 

o    coordinating responses and routing of fax, text, voicemail, e-mail and web portal communications 

o    updating electronic health records (EHRs) e.g. HPI and Diagnostic Lists

o    patient referral to specialist 

o    lab and radiology follow-up 

o    delivery of educational materials 

o    obtaining insurance pre-authorizations 

o    gathering patient information 

o    sending prescriptions 

    Support Chronic Care Management (CCM), Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), and Transitional Care Management (TCM) programs.

    Assist with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program requirements.

Qualifications

    Must have minimum internet speeds to connect from home of 25Mbps download / 25Mbps upload.

    Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a minimum of two years of experience, ideally in a primary care office.

    Active certification.

    Experience as an office manager is a plus.

    RPM/TCM/CCM experience is a plus

Abilities/Skills:    

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Strong technical skills and familiarity with EHRs and online conferencing platforms.

    Creative thinker with problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.

    Comfortable in a role that emphasizes autonomy, innovation, and collaboration.

    Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and pivot with organizational needs.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Work independently and as a team
